Analysis of Melt Filtration Formula for Spinning Components

When using stainless steel metal sand as the filter material in spinning, it is important to consider the following points:

Stratified use of different particle sizes: It is recommended to avoid using mixed sand of different specifications directly. Instead, stratify the use of different sizes of sand. Using mixed sand can lead to uneven mixing, resulting in short circuits or clogging of the effective filter pores in the filter layer. This is particularly important when using sea sand as it can decrease the filtration effect and affect production stability.

Coarse sand above fine sand: It is advisable to place the sand with a coarser grain size above the finer sand. For example, the 20-40 mesh filter metal sand should be placed above the 40-60 mesh metal sand. This arrangement ensures that the melt is filtered through the coarser sand before passing through the finer sand. It helps improve the sand filtration effect and extends the filter sand's filtration cycle.

Avoid large differences in particle size on adjacent layers: It is recommended not to put metal sand with significant differences in particle size on adjacent layers. If the particle size difference between the filtered sand on adjacent layers is too large, the finer sand can easily plug the holes of the coarse sand layer. This results in increased filtration resistance, poor filter effect, and shorter component usage cycle.

Consider component pressure: Component pressure plays a crucial role in stable production. There are two aspects to consider. Firstly, the initial pressure should be appropriate, generally around 120 kg/square centimeter. Excessively high pressure can lead to component leakage, production accidents, and instability in spinning production. Secondly, the boost rate of the component is important. The appropriate boost rate significantly affects the component's usage cycle and production stability. The rate of pressure increase should not be too fast or too slow. The optimal boost rate depends not only on the component formula but also on other factors.

Follow operating procedures for cleaning, assembly, preheating, on-machine operations, and spinning: Strictly adhere to operating procedures for component cleaning, assembly, preheating, on-machine operations, and spinning. This fundamental management approach ensures the proper use of components and maintains their performance.

By considering these factors and following the recommended guidelines, the performance and effectiveness of the stainless steel metal sand filter in spinning can be maximized, leading to stable production and high-quality products.
